Senate Bills to Contain Secondhand Smoke and Curb Teenage Tobacco Use Progress in the House
The House Committee on Health advanced two key public health bills on March 20th aimed at protecting the public from the dangerous effects of secondhand smoke and decreasing teenage tobacco consumption. SB 3262 seeks to contain unwanted public exposure to secondhand smoke by prohibiting smoking in the workplace and other public places such as airports and bars, while SB 2503 would ban the sale of flavored cigarette products - largely thought to be targeted at teenagers.
