Legislature Overrides Governor’s Vetoes

Eleven bills became law due to the efforts of the Hawaii State Legislature. The Hawaii State Senate overrode 12 bills that Governor Lingle vetoed, but the State House did not pass out SB 1174 (Revenue bonds for Hawaii Health System Corporation.) Several critical measures including Invasive Species (SB 1066), Pedestrian Safety (SB 1191), Safe Haven (HB 1830), and Hawaii 2050 Taskforce (HB 1270) made it out during Tuesday’s one day special session.
