2009 Hawai`i Blood Drive
Give the gift of life and sign up to give blood! Winter months are slow months for the Hawaii Blood Bank and this year is no exception. Reduced donations due to the holidays, weather and illness have led to low levels of supply. Those with B-Positive, O-Positive or O-Negative blood types are especially needed with Hawaii’s blood supply at critical levels.
The Hawaii Blood Bank will be taking donations at the State Capitol Thursday, March 12, 2009. If you are at least 18 years-old (17 years-old with parental consent), weigh at least 110 lbs., have not had any piercings or tattoos in the past 12 months, and have not traveled in high risk malarial regions or to the U.K. in the past 12 months, your donation can save 3 lives!
Appointments are available from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Conference Room 325. Refreshments will be provided. Contact Leslie Campaniano at 586-6760 to make an appointment or the Blood Bank of Hawaii at 848-4721 for more information.
