Information on health benefit and life insurance for public employees

EUTFThe Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund (EUTF) Board of Trustees recently approved health benefit and life insurance plans. Open enrollment has been scheduled for November 2-30, 2009. However, due to worker confusion over health care choices, a special meeting has been called next Monday, November 23,2009, to consider extending open enrollment.

The Senate Accounting office has distributed benefit plan and rate information and personalized enrollment forms to all active employees. A number of informational benefit fairs were available to assist in making enrollment decisions and answer any questions. If you were not able to attend these sessions, the following are links to information presented at the Open Enrollment sessions:

  1. Information from EUTF about the Open Enrollment period, from Nov 1 to Nov 30, 2009, for benefits effective January 1, 2010
  2. Information from all health insurance providers
  3. EUTF forms you will need to complete to make changes to your health insurance coverage

Just a reminder, if employees currently enrolled in the HMSA PPO plan do not submit an EC-1 active employee enrollment form to switch to the 80/20 plan, they will be enrolled by default in the 90/10 plan under HMA
