Senate Ad Hoc Committee

Senate Ad Hoc Committee
The Senate Ad Hoc Committee, formed during the 2009 interim, has been tasked with the oversight of the Governor’s lay-off plans and the impacts to our communities. The reduction in forces has been ordered by the Governor to reduce spending in an effort to help balance the State budget. Chaired by Senate Vice-President Russell Kokubun, the committee has held series of informational briefings on the outer islands and at the State Capitol in Honolulu to hear directly from communities that would be affected by the proposed program and personnel cuts.
