Governor Ige extends emergency relief period for Hawai‘i Island lava flow

HONOLULU – Gov. David Ige signed a fifth supplementary emergency proclamation relating to the volcanic activity and lava flows in the Puna District of Hawai‘i County. POHOIKI BOAT RAMP COULD BE USED AGAIN…BIG MAYBE

A damage assessment of the formerly popular Pohoiki Boat Ramp area, along the lower Puna coast, shows no damage to the ramp itself. MacKenzie State Recreation Area to Reopen Saturday - People Crossing Through the Park Urged to Exerc

(Hilo) – The DLNR Division of State Parks, in consultation with other DLNR divisions and the Hawai‘i County Civil Defense Agency is reopening MacKenzie State Recreation Area (SRA) in Lower Puna on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.
