O'ahu lane closures for the week of September 5 - 11

PLEASE NOTE: Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.


There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.


Special use lanes will be closed during this time.

--- H-1 FREEWAY ---

1) AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Three right lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Kaahumanu Street overpass and Kaonohi Street underpass on Friday night, Sept. 4, through Saturday morning, Sept. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., for surface treatment.

2) AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to four right lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between Kaonohi Street underpass and the Kaahumanu Street overpass on Friday night, Sept. 4, through Saturday morning, Sept. 5, from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m., for surface treatment.

3) EWA

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Kunia Interchange on Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road repairs.

4) EWA

Full closure of the Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa offramp (Exit 5) from the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for asphalt repair work.

5) EWA

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction in the vicinity of the Kualakai Parkway underpass on Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for signage work.

6) HONOLULU

Lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the Kapiolani Interchange and Ainakoa Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The speed limit in this area is reduced to 40 mph during closure hours.

7) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on the Joint Base PBHH offramp (Exit 15B) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, from 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., for The Rail project.

5) WAIANAE (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the eastbound direction between Maipalaoa Road and St. John’s Road on Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., for the Maipalaoa Bridge Replacement project.

The eastbound shoulder and right lane will be closed over a 24-hour period, seven days a week. Two lanes will remain open in the eastbound direction and one lane in the westbound direction for morning rush hour. For afternoon rush hour, two lanes will be open in the westbound direction and one lane in the eastbound direction around 3 p.m.

6) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Lanes will be closed as needed on Farrington Highway (Route 7101) in both directions between Fort Weaver Road and the H-1 Freeway Overpass (near Leeward Community College), on Sunday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 11, over a 24-hour period, for The Rail.

Full closure of Ualena Street nightly Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for The Rail. Motorists and pedestrians will be detoured and on street parking will not be allowed.

Intermittent stoppages will take place Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 11, between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
