Today is the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment

Today is the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment which states:

“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

This year, we celebrate how far women have come in this country from not having the right to vote to being in leadership positions and serving as role models for women across the state of Hawai‘i.

The Women’s Legislative Caucus are proud to be a part of a legacy of the women who led the Women’s Suffrage movement. Their sacrifice and dedication created opportunities for all of us and all future generations of women to come.
