SENATE PRESIDENT RONALD KOUCHI ISSUES STATEMENT ON THE APPOINTMENT OF LUKE EVSLIN TO VACANT KAUAʻI

Senate President Ronald D. Kouchi issued a statement today regarding the
appointment of Kauaʻi Councilman Luke Evslin to the vacant District 16 seat in the Hawaiʻi State House of Representatives.
Evslin replaces former State Representative James Tokioka, who was recently appointed as the deputy director for the airports division of the state Department of Transportation.
“I would like to thank James Tokioka for his many years of admirably serving Kauaʻi in the House of Representatives and wish him well in his future endeavors,” noted Senate President Kouchi. “I welcome newly appointed Representative Luke Evslin to the Legislature and look forward to working with him on behalf of the people of Kauaʻi.”
House District 16 includes the areas of Wailuā, Hanamā‘ulu, Kapaia, Līhu‘e, Puhi, portion of ‘Ōma‘o.
