Today, Senator Lorraine R. Inouye (District 1 – Hilo, Paukaʻa, Papaikou, Pepeʻekeo) issued the following statement thanking Governor Josh Green for releasing $692,480 in capital improvement project funds to finance the replacement of cesspools with individual wastewater septic systems at Hilo International Airport:
“This project will enhance the water infrastructure at Hilo International Airport. I am grateful to Governor Josh Green for releasing the funding for this critical project. The Hilo International Airport is the primary gateway for travelers to and from the east side of Hawai‘i Island."
